LESS THINGS CHANGE MORE THINGS STAY SAME

 

The top 5 tobacco companies have allied to fight a federal ban on the sale of cigarettes to minors. Exxon corporation has agreed to pay the state of Alaska 13.2 million dollars to settle disputed income taxes dating back to 1979. Federal workers are still off work, and half a million have been forced to continue to work for no pay. In Utah, the closure of national parks is obliterating the local economy.

Economic analysts report predictions of decline in 1996.
